School Visits:

Penshaw Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society approved centre offering riding lessons, rewards trips, educational enrichment, alternative education and equine-assisted therapy sessions for people of all abilities from ages 2.5 years and over. We are able to offer a tailored package to suit the individual needs of the child, all of which link in with the National Curriculum and P Scales.

Time spent around horses and in an equine-centred environment can help children with their emotional and social development as well as further their academic knowledge.  The activities in which children and young people will be engaged are cross curricular and will link in to literacy, numeracy, science, personal and social education and citizenship. Equine-Assisted Therapy can help the individual build confidence and self-efficiency, develop impulse control and learn boundaries while improving interpersonal skills and overcoming barriers to success.

We work in close partnership with relevant professionals including teachers, CAMHS and the Local Authority to offer a therapeutic package.

We also offer one-off sessions which are ideal as rewards trips, end of term activities or enrichment sessions. All sessions are tailored to your needs and priced accordingly, aiming to offer the best value possible.

Curriculum packs, including schemes of work and further information about how our programmes link in to the National Curriculum are made available to participating schools and organisations.
